Manchester United have learned the price-tag for Atalanta midfielder Ederson ahead of the upcoming transfer windows.

Manchester United have been linked with Atalanta’s star midfield player Ederson for some time now and he continues to be rumoured with a move ahead of the 2025 transfer windows.

Ruben Amorim is currently assessing his United squad after taking over last month. He has managed six games so far and learned a lot about his players.

While the wingbacks seem to be a position that needs strengthening, the midfield also looks like it could do with extra firepower, especially with potential summer exits forthcoming.

Man Utd learn Ederson price tag

According to a report from TeamTALK, the Italian club have set a £42 million price tag for their Brazilian midfielder for the January transfer window.

It was added that United are working on a tight budget for the next month, making it unlikely that a mid-season move is made.

United are also rumoured to be prioritising a left wingback signing if they can raise sufficient funds next month.

Although, the aforementioned report concluded that Ederson is ‘one to watch’ for United, who are holding internal talks over the midfielder who has impressed in Italy.

Former England manager Fabio Capello has waxed lyrical about the 25-year-old’s performances in the Serie A.

“He is out of this world for his ability to combine running, physicality, technique and intelligence,” Capello told Italian outlets.

Two United midfield exits expected

Despite the summer signing of Manuel Ugarte at Old Trafford, further midfield additions will be needed due to expected exits in the summer.

Christian Eriksen is almost certainly going to leave the club, with his contract expiring at the end of the current season. The Dane could even depart if any offers come in the January transfer window.

Meanwhile, Casemiro could also be on the way out after the club failed to sell him in the most recent summer window.

The Brazilian has improved his form this season but is unlikely to be part of Amorim’s long-term plans and doesn’t suit the profile he likes in his midfielders.

With those two players possibly leaving the club, at least one midfield signing next summer may be a necessity.
