Real Madrid ‘contemplating’ 2025 transfer for Manchester United and Erik ten Hag favourite
Real Madrid are reportedly contemplating a transfer for Manchester United and Erik ten Hag favourite Diogo Dalot next summer.
Manchester United made a strong start to the summer transfer window, bringing in Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna for £36 million and 18-year-old centre-back Leny Yoro from Lille for £52 million.
The signing of Yoro, in particular, garnered significant praise. United and INEOS earned recognition for beating Real Madrid to his signature, highlighting their ambitious intent for the future.

But, in a new twist, it seems that Madrid are looking to get their revenge. Diogo Dalot has been one of United’s most consistent performers during a turbulent time under Erik ten Hag and has won the affection of both the manager and the club’s fans across the last few seasons.
However, according to Givemesport, the current La Liga champions are contemplating whether to make a move for Dalot next summer.
Madrid are said to be eying a long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal, who will be 33 by the time the transfer window opens next summer.
Los Blancos are said to have been impressed with Dalot’s performance in an underwhelming United side. The Portuguese international won the Players’ Player of the Year award at Old Trafford for his fantastic displays in 2023/24.
However, with Dalot’s current contract active until 2028 and United having the option to extend this for a further year, they would be able to be strict and high in their demands should Real sit at the table for Dalot.
“Playing for Manchester United is one of the highest honours that you can have in football,” Dalot stated when he signed his new five-year contract in May 2023.
“We have shared some fantastic moments over the past five years, and I’ve grown so much and my passion for this incredible club has only increased since the day that I joined.
“As a group of players, we all feel like we are at the start of a special journey right now.
“I can assure you that I will dedicate myself relentlessly to helping this group to achieve our aims and make the fans proud of this team.”
