Real Madrid have reportedly ‘set their sights’ on a Manchester United fan and Erik ten Hag favourite for the 2025 transfer window.

Manchester United‘s transfer window in the summer of 2024 saw the club recruit Joshua ZirkzeeLeny YoroMatthijs de LigtNoussair Mazraoui, and Manuel Ugarte as they continue to rebuild the squad under Erik ten Hag‘s guidance.

The Dutchman also saw several high-profile players sold or loaned, with Scott McTominay, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Jadon Sancho, and others all donning new shirts for the 2024/25 season.

With the window now at its conclusion, United have been busy planning for the next few windows, with the club being linked to Jarrad Branthwaite, Nico Williams, and others.

However, they are not the only club doing so, and it seems as if La Liga giants Real Madrid eyeing a bid for one of United’s most loved players next summer.

According to the Spanish outlet Fichajes, Los Blancos have “set their sights” on United right-back Diogo Dalot as they look for a high-class right-back to succeed club legend Dani Carvajal in the position.

Although the reigning La Liga champions are well known to be interested in Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dalot is another player they have in mind for the position.

The article claims that Real Madrid’s chefs are big fans of the Portuguese international, with several reasons in mind. Firstly, they have been impressed with the vast expericen Dalot has accumulated in his career so far, playing 165 times for United and 33 times while on loan at AC Milan.

Secondly, they are impressed at how Dalot has risen to become one of Ten Hag’s key players at Old Trafford. It’s also noted a transfer would not be easy as United value him as one of their most significant assets, and with the player having signed a new deal to keep him at United until 2028, United would demand a huge sum to secure him.

Dalot has played a part in every game so far this season and has been covering for Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia at left-back.

“Playing for Manchester United is one of the highest honours that you can have in football,” he told club media last year when he signed a new deal.

“We have shared some fantastic moments over the past five years, and I’ve grown so much and my passion for this incredible club has only increased since the day that I joined.

“As a group of players, we all feel like we are at the start of a special journey right now.

“I can assure you that I will dedicate myself relentlessly to helping this group to achieve our aims and make the fans proud of this team.”
