Real Madrid have sent a clear message to French defender Leny Yoro after Manchester United tabled a £50 million offer for the 18-year-old.

Yoro has been a consistent presence in Ligue 1 this season, with the centre-back playing a crucial role in Lille’s fourth-place finish.

His team conceded only one more goal than PSG throughout the campaign while he made 44 appearances.

The teenager’s talent has brought the attention of several big clubs in Europe, including Manchester United and Real Madrid.

Latest reports from José Félix Díaz of Marca has revealed that United have put an offer on the table for the young defender at around £50 million.

The Champions League winners have had mixed reports surrounding the young Frenchman in recent weeks but the aforementioned report has clarified their stance on the situation.

It says that Madrid are determined to sign the centre-back but have informed the player and his agent that they must wait and resist the lure of higher offers if he truly wishes to join the club.

The interest from the La Liga champions has been longstanding, but similar to the cases of Eduardo Camavinga and Aurélien Tchouameni, they need to wait until Madrid decides to make a definitive move.

The report concluded that, in the coming days, Madrid’s leaders have numerous decisions to make. Contacts with Yoro have been ongoing, and the French footballer has consistently expressed his desire to play at the Santiago Bernabéu.

It appears that United will face an uphill battle if their Spanish competitors decide to challenge their offer, but they are clearly in for the talented defender.
