Rasmus Højlund names dream Man United strike partner amid Joshua Zirkzee links
Rasmus Højlund has named his dream Manchester United strike partner amid links to Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee.
Højlund, 21, scored 16 goals during his debut campaign at Old Trafford despite having faced difficulties throughout the season.
Following Anthony Martial’s departure, he is currently the only recognised no.9 at United, and so INEOS is aiming to sign another striker this summer.

Joshua Zirkzee has been heavily linked, and the latest reports state that United are seriously considering the 23-year-old and preparing to trigger the £34 million release clause in his contract.
While someone like Zirkzee would allow Højlund to rotate and not get burnt out, it would also give Erik ten Hag the potential to line up with a strike partnership.
Højlund has enjoyed playing in a two-man frontline for Atalanta as well as his national team Denmark, and he’s already explained the perfect partner for him.
Speaking during a question and answer session with Sky Sports last season, Højlund revealed that Wayne Rooney would be his dream strike partner from any previous United forward.
“I think I would take Wayne to be fair, He’s also like a bulldog. He likes to bark. He would do a massive job for me,” explained Højlund.
“He’s also selfish, but he wants to play, but he wants to make you better as well and to score goals. I think we would have a nice partnership together with his size as well. He could drop deep, and I can make the deeper runs maybe, and so on.”
Interestingly, while Zirkzee is nowhere near Rooney’s ability, he does possess similar traits to the ones Højlund highlighted, such as dropping deeper to link up and create space for others.
Should a move materialise, putting both Zirkzee and Højlund in the team together will certainly be an option for Ten Hag.
