Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United will look to stop the rot on Saturday afternoon after back-to-back Premier League defeats for the first time since the beginning of the season.

Manchester United will welcome Wolves to Old Trafford in a rare 15:00 GMT kick-off and Erik ten Hag will be hoping that his team can get back on track after successive 1-0 defeats.

Erik ten Hag‘s hopes of playing Champions League football next season have hit a stumbling block in the past week with Liverpool closing the gap to just a single point, albeit having played a game more.

Wolves hit the magic 40-point mark with a 1-0 victory over Aston Villa last Saturday which has secured their Premier League status for another season.

Here is the team news ahead of the 3 o’clock kick-off at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

Manchester United team news

A rare week without a game has given Ten Hag’s men some time to rest, with the players given two days off after the defeat against West Ham.

Erik ten Hag revealed in his press conference that Marcus Rashford is a doubt for tomorrow’s fixture with a leg injury. The United boss said: “[Rashford] is doubtful, more than doubtful. So a big question mark.”

On a more positive note, Raphael Varane is set to return to the squad after his most recent injury lay-off after being forced off in the Europa League tie against Sevilla last month.

Alejandro Garnacho is in contention after returning as an unused substitute against West Ham last weekend. Scott McTominay, Donny van de Beek and Lisandro Martinez remain sidelined.

Ten Hag offered an update on McTomiany on Saturday morning, saying: “It’s good news that Scott is on the way back. He’s made really good steps. He’s close, but not close enough to make the selection for [Saturday].”

Wolves team news

There are no fresh concerns for Wolves with Julen Lopetegui having the same players at his disposal that featured in the 1-0 victory over Aston Villa last weekend.

Chiquinho, Sasa Kalajdzic and Boubacar Traore remain unavailable for Wolves, with the former two still working their way back from long-term knee injuries.
