Raphaël Varne is now available for selection for Manchester United again after he was ruled out of the Chelsea game due to a “sore back” injury.

The Reds have struggled this season, particularly in crafting a consistent back line, with injuries rife across their defensive areas.

Raphaël Varane was signed in 2022 from Real Madrid, and although he has performed very well alongside Lisandro Martínez, he has fallen from grace and down Erik ten Hag‘s pecking order this season.

Varane has seen a series of injury layoffs across his 18 months at the club so far, with the player once again proving his unreliability after he was ruled out of the Chelsea fixture through injury.

Manchester United have provided an update on Varane’s situation ahead of the team’s clash against Bournemouth in the Premier League, with the club confirming that he is once again fit to play.

However, they have also explained that Victor Lindelöf will be unavailable for the fixture, with the reason yet to be disclosed.

Lindelöf was substituted at half-time during the win over Chelsea, with Ten Hag replacing him with Luke Shaw shifting to centre-back and Sergio Reguilón coming on to fill in at left-back.

Further to this, the club also stated that Marcus Rashford missed training on Friday through illness, and is now a doubt for the game on Saturday afternoon.

United will be looking to get one step closer to the top four, currently sitting in sixth position. They sit three points away from Manchester City in fourth and are level on points with Tottenham Hotspur in fifth.
