Premier League outfit have made “serious moves” for Marcus Rashford as full nine-club transfer list emerges

Marcus Rashford’s transfer priority this summer is Barcelona, but this has not stopped many of Europe’s top clubs entertaining the idea of signing him from Manchester United.

Marcus Rashford’s Manchester United career appears to be nearing its end, with Rúben Amorim having decided he no longer features in the club’s long-term plans.

The Academy graduate, who has amassed 426 appearances, 138 goals, and 77 assists, is now expected to depart.

Tensions with Amorim over a perceived lack of commitment in training led to a six-month loan at Aston Villa during the 2024/25 season.

Despite performing well at Villa Park, the Midlands club declined to activate their £40 million purchase option, and Rashford is now available for a similar fee this summer.

Newcastle making serious moves for Rashford

Rashford’s transfer case is interesting. While he is an exile from the United, he is still a 27-year-old with a wealth of Premier League experience and talent to his name, and should be entering the prime years of his career.

However, despite Barcelona being keen on spending upward of £60 million on 28-year-old Luis Diaz from Liverpool before Arne Slot’s team made it clear he is not for sale, they do not want to sign Rashford on anything more than a loan deal.

This also seems to be the case for Saudi-owned Newcastle United. According to CaughtOffside, the Gordie side are making “serious moves” in an attempt to sign Rashford this summer.

However, it is also stated that Eddie Howe’s team would prefer to sign the United talent on loan this summer, although Amorim’s team want Rashford off their books permanently.

A queue of clubs are lining up to sign Rashford

Aside from Newcastle and Barcelona, CaughtOffside detail that there have been seven other clubs who have enquired about the possibility of signing Rashford.

From the Premier League, Tottenham Hotspur have been listed as a side who have shown genuine interest in the player, with a move to Spurs having been touted as a “perfect” move for the winger.

Elsewhere in Spain, Atletico Madrid and Real Betis are two clubs who are said to have shown an interest in signing him. However, Atleti have also been touted as a possible destination for Alejandro Garnacho, while Betis want Antony.

As for Italy, Serie A giants AC Milan, Juventus, and Napoli have all been handed as destinations, with the former close to agreeing a loan deal for Rashford back in January. Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are also reportedly keen.
