“Positive” Manchester United star is at “the wrong club”, claims ex-Old Trafford defender
Rasmus Højlund has had a mixed start to life at Manchester United after signing for Erik ten Hag’s squad in a £64 million deal.
Rasmus Højlund has scored five goals so far during his spell at Old Trafford, however is yet to net in the Premier League – all of his Manchester United finishes have so far come in the Champions League.
As a tall, young, and hungry striker, Højlund has all the abilities to become an elite-level centre-forward, which is why Erik ten Hag pushed to bring him into his team in the summer window, but Ten Hag has admitted that it will take time for Højlund to form into the goalscorer United need.
He has shown great promise in the opening games, especially with his braces against Galatarasay and Copenhagen, but the Danish 20-year-old has been very much thrown into the deep end on the pitch.

Former United defender Paul Parker was singing Hojlund’s praises ahead of United’s Champions League loss against Copenhagen on Wednesday evening.
“I know the fans are very happy with Rasmus Højlund at this moment in time.,” Parker told SpilXperten. “Yes, of course, they would like to see some goals in the Premier League, but given Manchester United´s situation right now, the work ethic is the most important thing. He is working so hard.
“He is a very good centre forward, I can see that with the way he holds the ball in the build-up play, and especially the run he makes. He is sticking out like a sore thumb.”
However, Parker also believes that despite Højlund becoming a fan favourite, he believes that Manchester United was not the right club for the striker to sign for at this point in his career.
“The fans really like him and I would say he has the potential to become a fan favourite. He has this honesty about him, which is a rarity in modern football.
“There is definitely a lot to build on, also keeping his age in mind, even though we have to ask the questions… Is Manchester United the right club for him at this moment in time? No, it is not.
“Is he being coached by the right manager? Yes, I think he is. Did he arrive at Manchester United at the wrong time? Yes, he did. 100%.”
