Match Coverage
Player Ratings: West Ham 2-1 Manchester United (Premier League)
Manchester United lost 2-1 in their Premier League clash against West Ham despite creating countless chances in the first-half.
Erik ten Hag’s side managed to miss so many clear-cut chances against West Ham, with Diogo Dalot’s open goal being the worst of them all.
United then were unable to deal with West Ham’s pressure and went a goal behind late in the second half.
Casemiro equalised with a good header but then the hosts scored the winner through a contentious penalty call by Michael Oliver on VAR.
United’s player ratings can be read below.
Man Utd player ratings vs West Ham
André Onana – 6/10
Couldn’t do much about the goals.
Diogo Dalot – 2/10
His open goal miss was genuinely mesmerising. The miss of the season for a team that can rarely score. Extremely poor in the final third all game.
Matthijs de Ligt – 7/10
A good performance and extremely unlucky to be on the wrong end of a typical Premier League VAR mistake.
Lisandro Martínez – 8/10
A very good display from the defender, who didn’t deserve to be on the losing side.
Noussair Mazraoui – 6.5/10
Decent at left-back but came off with a knee issue.
Casemiro – 8/10
A great goal and performance. Really solid in the middle.
Christian Eriksen – 7/10
Helped create some good chances going forward before coming off.
Marcus Rashford – 5/10
His impact was limited in the role he was playing. Almost never received the ball in dangerous positions.
Bruno Fernandes – 7/10
A good display until the end of the match, where he was forcing the ball too much when United needed to score.
Alejandro Garnacho – 4/10
Missed two golden opportunities in the first half and lost the ball before West Ham’s opener.
Rasmus Højlund – 4/10
Not very involved in the game.
Substitutes
Amad Diallo – 7/10
Joshua Zirkzee – 7/10
Victor Lindelöf – 6/10
