Player Ratings: Manchester United vs Luton Town (Premier League)
Manchester United won 1-0 against Luton Town in their Premier League clash at Old Trafford this afternoon.
It was a decent display from Erik ten Hag’s side following their tragic Champions League loss to Copenhagen in midweek. However, they simply did not have the finishing touch to put the visitors to bed.
Victor Lindelof’s second-half goal was enough to get The Reds over the line but Luton were still in the game until the end of the match. Confidence still looks low but three points were important.
The player ratings can be read below:
Andre Onana – 7/10
Excellent in his only moment of the first half, where he saved a great header late on. Not much to do in the second half.
Diogo Dalot – 6.5/10
A decent overall display.
Harry Maguire – 7.5/10
Good performance. Not much to do defensively but some useful switches across to the left made some of United’s most dangerous chances.
Victor Lindelof – 7.5/10
A solid defensive display, better in the second half, and scored the important opener.
Sergio Reguilon – 6/10
Some good link-up moments going forward.
Christian Eriksen – 5.5/10
Done OK but forced off with an injury in the first half.
Scott McTominay – 6.5/10
Made a nuisance in the box before the opener. Good running. Decent overall.
Bruno Fernandes – 7/10
A solid overall performance.
Marcus Rashford – 7/10
Looks sharp on the right. Close to assisting Hojlund in the first half. Moved over to the left in the second half and should’ve scored. His dangerous cross led to the only goal of the game.
Rasmus Hojlund – 7/10
More of the same in the Premier League. Some brilliant moments and all-round play but the goal just didn’t come. He was so close when his effort off the thigh was well saved in the first half. Hopefully, the injury is nothing serious.
Alejandro Garnacho – 6/10
Some good direct moments but needed to take his shot earlier when played in by Hojlund towards the end of the first half.
Subs
Mason Mount – 7.5/10
Barring one shockingly bad pass, he had a very positive game in both the final third and whilst building up to it. Simple pass wide to Rashford led to the opener. Others might’ve shot instead.
Antony – 6.5/10
Deserved an assist soon after coming on. Didn’t offer much else.
Raphael Varane – N/A
Anthony Martial – N/A
