Player Ratings: Copenhagen vs Manchester United (Champions League)

| Last Updated:

Manchester United isn’t easy. From 2-0 up and cruising to losing the game with 10 men. That’s what happened at Copenhagen away for Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United

This player ratings article was finally looking fun for me, after countless poor performances this term. It was a brilliant start for United, who were looking their best so far this term.

Rasmus Hojlund’s double was then cancelled out after Marcus Rashford has been sent off. In the second half, United went back ahead through the penalty spot but two goals in quick succession from the hosts secured their victory and completed United’s capitulation.

Player ratings as United’s Champions League campaign looks all but over.

Andre Onana – 5/10

Couldn’t do anything about any of the goals.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 5/10

Solid and good contribution for the opener. Switched off defensively several times after the red card.

Harry Maguire – 6.5/10

Good with the ball. Am I supposed to knock him for the ball being kicked into his arm from the player right next to him? We need an armless defence. Decent overall.

Jonny Evans – 5/10

Replaced early on with an injury.

Diogo Dalot – 4/10

Again. He didn’t follow his runner at the back post and it cost United. He was key to United when they were playing well in the game but a huge reason why they collapsed.

Scott McTominay – 5.5/10

Great run and assist for the opener early on. Decent in moments otherwise but not good.

Christian Eriksen – 5.5/10

Helped to make things tick for United until the red. Not great defensively and rightfully subbed at half-time.

Bruno Fernandes – 6/10

Good first half. Not brilliant in the second. Well-taken penalty.

Marcus Rashford – 4/10

Looked sharp. Great pass to McTominay for the opener. But then he was sent off moments before the end of the half. Manchester United for you.

Rasmus Hojlund – 8.5/10

He gets goals if you give him chances. Great movement and positioning for both of his goals. Unfortunate to be on the losing side.

Alejandro Garnacho – 6/10

Not much from the winger before he was replaced.

Raphael Varane – 4.5/10

A poor display.

Sofyan Amrabat – 5/10

Good start to the second half but slipped as the pressure grew.

Mason Mount – 6/10

Came on to help the press. Isolated. Couldn’t do much.
