Player Ratings: Manchester United vs Liverpool (pre-season)
Manchester United lost 3-0 against Liverpool at half-time in their final pre-season clash of the United States tour.
The Reds had a mostly promising 45 minutes of football but were punished by two ruthless attacking movements from their rivals.
Erik ten Hag’s side was particularly impressive in their press and out-of-possession structure, but small mistakes were punished.
Liverpool added a third in the second half as Ten Hag made many changes to the team.
The United player ratings can be viewed below.
André Onana – 5/10
OK mostly, questionable for the third.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 5/10
A brilliant tackle midway through the first half. Some sloppy moments otherwise.
Victor Lindelöf – 5/10
An OK game.
Jonny Evans – 5/10
An awkward defensive moment on the touchline. Decent otherwise.
Harry Amass – 7/10
He has been playing beyond his years in terms of his role in United’s build-up. Moving inside, drifting wide, linking play. Decent defensively as well but ended the half a little shaky.
Casemiro – 5/10
Really poor for the first Liverpool goal. Created a great chance afterwards for Mount.
Toby Collyer – 7/10
Won absolutely everything in the middle during the first-half. He’s really a super useful player in this press, but as he has admitted, there will need to be some improvements in his passing on the ball.
Mason Mount – 7.5/10
Really sharp and got into goalscoring positions but some decent saves stopped him from scoring.
Amad Diallo – 7/10
Really good in the press but not as impactful on the ball as in previous games. Still looking sharp.
Marcus Rashford – 7.5/10
Very solid first half. Dangerous on the ball and did his role in the press well.
Jadon Sancho – 7/10
Again, he was solid out of possession – working with Mount as a front two. A few nice touches on the ball as well.
