“Perfect…” – Ruben Amorim’s brilliant 9-word response to Amad Diallo spat after Man United win
Ruben Amorim delivered a brilliant nine-word response to Amad Diallo’s spat after Manchester United’s win against Viktoria Plzen.
Manchester United struggled to impress for much of the match, as Ruben Amorim’s team displayed numerous sloppy moments throughout.
The first half was marred by errors, preventing the Reds from building any real momentum, and the teams went into halftime with the score locked at 0-0.
Early in the second half, Viktoria Plzen capitalised on a catastrophic error by André Onana to take the lead.
This setback seemed to spark Amorim’s side into action. With the introduction of impactful substitutes, Rasmus Højlund stepped up to score both goals, securing a hard-fought victory.
United moved up into 5th in the Europa League table, and they are one step closer to automatic qualification to the round of 16.
Amorim responds to Amad spat
Amad Diallo was one of the standout performers for United on the night and delivered yet another magical moment to set up the equaliser.
He also helped create several other openings but was on the end of a small spat with Rasmus Højlund at full-time.
Højlund, who had already scored twice, was running through the centre in the final moments but Amad ignored his run and tried going solo only to be held up by the opposition defence.
The full time whistle blew shortly afterwards but that did not stop the Dane having some choice words with his teammate.
Amorim was asked about the spat in his press conference after the game, where he delivered the perfect response.
“For me, it’s perfect,” he said to the press. “We need to feel something….”
United need to be more clinical
Hopefully those moments will contribute to United being a more clinical team on the break, because the game should have been wrapped up in the closing stages.
Several chances on the transition were ruined by poor decisions which sums this United attack up at the minute.
Thankfully the goals have started coming more under Amorim and Højlund needs to be demanding of his teammates in order to keep scoring goals.
The next steps are crucial and Amorim will be looking to see better link up between his players in the final third soon.
