Player Ratings: Viktoria Plzen 1-2 Manchester United (Europa League)
Manchester United fought from behind to win 2-1 in their away clash against Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League.
Manchester United were far from impressive in large stretches of this game, with so many sloppy moments from Ruben Amorim’s side.
Sloppy moments defined the first half and stopped the Reds from gaining any serious momentum before the half-time whistle blew at 0-0.
Viktoria Plzen pounced on a horrendous mistake from André Onana to open the scoring early on in the second half.
That woke Amorim’s side up, who started playing better with the help of substitutes. Højlund grabbed both goals to give his side the win.
United player ratings can be read below.
Man Utd player ratings vs Viktoria Plzen
André Onana – 3/10
Wild attempt to claim a cross and wiped out Casemiro before a horrible error for the goal.
Noussair Mazraoui – 8/10
Another solid performance at the back.
Matthijs de Ligt – 7/10
Swept up well for the most part.
Lisandro Martínez – 6.5/10
Decent game but you want to see him more proactive on the ball.
Diogo Dalot – 4.5/10
Another mixed performance with plenty of sloppy moments.
Casemiro – 5/10
An OK performance.
Bruno Fernandes – 6.5/10
Really improved in the closing stages as United fought back to win, with a smart assist for the winner. Sloppy like everyone else beforehand.
Tyrell Malacia – 5/10
Didn’t really offer much going forward, OK defensively.
Amad Diallo – 8/10
Poor final action in the first half but made the difference with his run and shot before Hojlund’s equaliser. Ran the game once United started playing more.
Marcus Rashford – 3/10
Horrible display. Deservedly hooked early in the second half.
Joshua Zirkzee – 3/10
Some OK hold up but really, really sloppy with the ball at his feet.
Substitutes
Rasmus Højlund – 9/10
Mason Mount – 7.5/10
Antony – 6.5/10
Manuel Ugarte – 7/10
Alejandro Garnacho – 6.5/10
