Paul Scholes says what all Manchester United fans are thinking after Marcus Rashford interview
Paul Scholes has said what all Manchester United fans are thinking following Marcus Rashford’s explosive interview on Tuesday evening.
Marcus Rashford is set to leave Manchester United in 2025 following a shocking interview in which the 27-year-old revealed his desire for a new challenge.
Despite his prolific 30-goal campaign under Erik ten Hag in the 2022/23 season, Rashford has struggled to meet expectations in recent years. Under Rúben Amorim, he has fallen down the pecking order, with players like Amad Diallo and Bruno Fernandes preferred in attacking midfield roles.

Rashford, who has been at United for nearly two decades, is currently in his ninth season with the first team. His debut as an 18-year-old was unforgettable, scoring twice against FC Midtjylland in the Europa League and following it up with another double against Arsenal in his Premier League debut.
Now, however, Manchester United are reportedly open to offers in the region of £40 million, making it highly likely that Rashford will move on to new opportunities in the coming months.
What does Paul Scholes think?
As is often in the media, many ex-United players are consulted for their thoughts on the latest news surrounding the club, with plenty of debate being caused by the Rashford news.
Paul Scholes, legendary United midfielder, has explained that he feels this may be the of the road for Rashford at the club. Although the video was filmed before Rashford’s interview, his words still ring true.
“It feels like the end for him,” Scholes said on The Overlap Fan Debate, which was shared on Wednesday morning. “He doesn’t look happy, the lad.
“Even if he’s scoring a goal. You think, what’s wrong with him. Is he getting the right support behind the scenes?
“You don’t know what’s happening. But it did happen with Ten Hag, I think he was late for a meeting before the Wolves game, and again, he’s been left out of this squad. I think his on and off the field choices aren’t quite right.'”
Scholes says what all fans are thinking
Scholes’ notion that this is “the end” for Rashford at United is a line of thought that most United fans are now willing to accept.
Rashford has been through bumpy roads before, but has always managed to pull through and shine brighter each time, but following his bombshell interview, it feels as if the relationship is at it’s end.
Although Rashford will likely depart the club with a level of decorum and mutual respect, it’s a move that will be in the best interests of every party involved.
Rashford will get a new challenge, the fans will be able to move on, and United will be able to pocket a fee that helps unburden their financial situation.
