Rúben Amorim has been handed an update on Alejandro Garnacho’s transfer future, with Manchester United’s demands being made abundantly clear.
Manchester United are expected to focus heavily on player sales this summer as Rúben Amorim looks to reshape his attacking options.
While the potential departures of Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Jadon Sancho have been widely reported, it came to light after the Europa League final that Alejandro Garnacho could also be moved on.
Garnacho was visibly frustrated after playing just 20 minutes in the defeat to Tottenham in Bilbao, and Amorim didn’t hold back, telling him in front of the entire squad: “You better pray that you can find a club to sign you.”
The Argentine winger has made 144 appearances for United, registering 26 goals and 22 assists under Ralf Rangnick, Erik ten Hag, and Amorim.
Garnacho wants to stay in the Premier League this summer
Being a player with over 150 senior appearances for club and country before turning 21, Garnacho is not short of suitors this summer.
According to various reports, Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Aston Villa are all monitoring the winger’s current situation, with Napoli and Atlético Madrid also being touted as potential destinations for the young star.
Although interest in Garnacho spreads across Europe, the player has already decided to prefer remaining in the Premier League, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Bayer Leverkusen, now managed by former United boss Ten Hag, had also reportedly enquired about the Argentine winger, but have cooled their interest due to United’s fee demands and Garnacho’s wage.
United’s Garnacho demands are clear amid Spurs interest
With Premier League sides lining up their interest in the winger, transfer specialist Ben Jacobs has revealed that, with United wanting over £60 million for the player, Tottenham is not necessarily the likely destination for Garnacho. However, a move to Villa could be one to watch.
“Spurs are still looking at left-sided attackers even with Mathys Tel being signed permanently,” Jacobs told The Spurs Web.

“Alejandro Garnacho has been linked, but I am not personally aware of any approach yet. Manchester United want £60-million-plus, and the Argentine winger commands a relatively high wage.
“Chelsea have considered Garnacho, even though their priority is Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens. And Aston Villa could also be one to watch.
“The challenge with Garnacho is Manchester United are insisting on a permanent sale, since that would be pure profit and give the club more PSR headroom. Let’s see how things develop. I know Garancho would love to remain in the Premier League.”
