Manchester United’s stance on three potential transfer exits when they complete a deal for Manuel Ugarte has been revealed.

Manuel Ugarte is on the verge of completing a move to Manchester United on an initial loan move, with an obligation to buy the player next summer.

The Uruguayan midfielder will become the fifth signing of the summer for Erik ten Hag’s squad after Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee.

It was recently explained by various reports that United needed a sale in order to complete the move for Ugarte, who would have cost between £40-50 million this summer.

That player appeared to be Scott McTominay, who first seemed close to making a move to Premier League outfit Fulham but now is attracting interest from Napoli.

However, a new report from the Manchester Evening News has explained that with the Ugarte deal now likely to be an initial loan move, McTominay’s exit is no longer necessarily linked to that deal.

While the Scotsman could still leave the club in the final days of the window, United might be less inclined to budge on their desired £25 million price tag during any discussions with Napoli.

Ten Hag has made his stance on the player clear. “We want to actually keep him because he’s a very important player for our squad,” he said earlier this summer.

“We’ve seen what he can contribute last season. When we had the sixes and he could play in a more advanced role, he’s a highly interesting player for our team.”

Meanwhile, the aforementioned report did mention that United are still looking to sell two other midfielders at Old Trafford.

It was detailed that the club are open to offers for Casemiro and Christian Eriksen, who have so far failed to attract interest this summer.

The Brazilian midfielder looked set for a move to the Saudi Pro League at the end of last season as he missed the FA Cup final victory over Manchester City.

Eriksen has had tentative links to an exit, including a potential move from Ajax, but nothing is advanced at the moment.

It seems that United would be selling the two ageing midfielders this summer in an ideal world, while having slightly more power in any negotiations for McTominay.
