Benjamin Šeško has sent the perfect message to his new Manchester United teammate Bryan Mbeumo in his first interview for the club.
Manchester United completed the signing of Benjamin Šeško last weekend, securing the 22-year-old striker from RB Leipzig in a deal worth an initial £66 million.
He was introduced to the Old Trafford crowd ahead of the club’s final pre-season outing against Fiorentina on Saturday and will make his return to the Theatre of Dreams next weekend.
Arsenal had shown strong interest in Šeško before shifting their focus to Viktor Gyokeres, giving the Slovenian added motivation to make an immediate impact in United colours.
With a full week of training ahead of the clash, Šeško has already begun working with his new teammates at Carrington, taking part in his first session on Sunday morning.
The 22-year-old striker has also conducted his first interview for the club’s media channels, where he spoke about several different topics including his idol, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Šeško sends perfect message to Mbeumo
During his first interview at United, Šeško was also asked about his playstyle and he explained some of his biggest strengths.
After mentioning his preference to attack the space behind opposition’s defence, Šeško explained how he is ‘always’ prepared to get on the end of crosses.
“I’m kind of the guy who is ready to attack, to be in front. If there is a space behind to run in,” the Slovenian international said.
“Of course if there are crosses, It’s always going to be nice, I’m always going to be there and I think that is what is important.”
Šeško scored eight headed goals during his two years at RB Leipzig. His 6ft 5in height, along with an impressive leap, makes him a dangerous prospect in the air which will please Bryan Mbeumo.
Mbeumo showed crossing ability vs Fiorentina
Mbeumo attempted more crosses in the Premier League last season than any other player and the 26-year-old showed a glimpse of his abilities during the Fiorentina clash.
The Cameroon international completed all four of his attempted crosses and created a lot of danger in the opposition box but United were unable to take advantage of those moments.
Šeško’s message will be like music to Mbeumo’s ears and many fans are expecting the two attacking players to link up for goals next season.
If the young striker can win his battles in the air then it seems like Mbeumo will be more than ready to deliver some pinpoint crosses into the box.
