Manchester United have been warned that they will face stiff competition from fellow ‘Big Six’ Premier League sides for the signature of Michael Olise.

Olise, who has continuously impressed at Crystal Palace had previously been heavily linked with a move to the Old Trafford side.

Producing nine goal contributions in just eleven Premier League appearances this season, Olise has been one of the best wingers in the league despite struggling with several injuries.

Olise is believed to have been identified as one of United’s top targets for the right-wing position, with his potential arrival coinciding with a likely departure from the club for Antony.

There has been a reported acceptance within United that Antony has not reached the expectations of his lofty £85 million price tag, and the club is now willing to part ways with the Brazillian forward.

Additionally, it has been stated that United are open to the sale of Facundo Pellistri, with his potential departure from the club being widely reported.

Speaking on United’s potential interest in signing Olise this summer, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has stated that though United’s interest is concrete, they may face competition from both Chelsea and Arsenal for the French forward’s signature.

“I expect there to be a big race for Michael Olise this summer,” Romano told CaughtOffside. “I think Manchester United could be there because they appreciate the player, of course we have to wait for the new director to come in to decide what’s the strategy, what’s the budget, how much they want to invest in that position.

“We know that Manchester United would also be busy for a centre-back, probably a left-back from what I’m told, and then a centre-striker, so they have some positions to cover, so let’s see how much of the budget they want to invest on a player like Michael Olise.

“Chelsea also had an interest in the past, so I think it’s going to be an interesting one for these two clubs and let’s see if someone else will move because maybe Arsenal can look for that kind of player. I think it’s still an open race, nothing is decided yet.”
