“Not for me…” legend reacts to Premier League interest in Manchester United star
Manchester United are receiving interest from multiple Premier League clubs for Scott McTominay this summer, but one club legend is not overly joyed about the prospect of his sale.
Scott McTominay‘s 2023/24 season at Manchester United has been his most successful to date. The midfielder scored 10 goals under Erik ten Hag‘s guidance, starring with his 13 overall goal contributions across the campaign.
Since making his debut in 2017 under Jose Mourinho, McTominay has been a reliable utility player for every manager during his seven years with the first team. However, this season seems set to be his final one at Old Trafford.

In 2023, McTominay was on the brink of leaving, with a £30 million move to West Ham almost finalised. However, the transfer fell through, and he remained for another year. Now, with INEOS needing to raise funds for new signings, McTominay is attracting interest from several Premier League clubs.
Four in for McTominay
According to reports last week, four Premier League teams are currently circling McTominay this summer, weighing up moves for the Scotland international.
Newcastle, Southampton, West Ham, and Fulham are all setting their sights on the 27-year-old this summer, with at least one bid “expected” to come in.
UtdDistrict understands that Manchester United are fully open to selling McTominay in the current transfer window in order to raise funds for further signings.
Cole not pleased
However, club legend and former striker Andy Cole does not seem too eager to let McTominay go, explaining that, as mentioned above, the player was “fantastic” for the club last season.
“That decision will be down to Scott and Manchester United,” Cole told Betfred.
“I like Scott, and anytime he’s got himself in the team, he’s been fantastic for them because he scores goals, brings a lot of energy, gets around the pitch and for me, he’s another player that never lets Manchester United down.
“It’s not for me to say that he will be the main man for Fulham because the move may not even happen. That decision is for Scott and his team to make. Everything right now is just speculation.”
