“No one mentioned…” Manchester United youngster’s agent shuts down transfer move amid loan rumours

One of Manchester United’s many talented youngsters has ruled out a departure amid rumours of a loan move, with his agent claiming ‘he deserves to be where he is’.

Manchester United have an exciting crop of youngsters knocking at the door of the first team, with a few of Carrington’s finest even being introduced into the squad.

The likes of Shea Lacey and Jack Fletcher have both appeared for the Reds over the past month, in both the Premier League and the FA Cup, with the former impressing the masses.

One of United’s young defenders has been linked with a potential loan move this month due to a lack of involvement within the first team, although his agent has since shut these rumours down.

Diego Leon, who joined the Red Devils in the summer transfer window, featured under Ruben Amorim during their pre-season tour of the United States of America, although he has since been a regular for the U21’s.

Leon’s agent shuts down rumours

In a report by Sport Witness, Renato Bittar, who represents the Paraguayan full-back, has came out to say that there has been no changes regarding Leon’s future since his arrival.

Speaking on Versus Sports, Bittar said, “When Diego arrived at Manchester, they gave us a development plan,” Bittar explained. “His process is normal, positive, and exactly what we planned.”

The South American was being linked with a potential loan move to OGC Nice, due to their connection to United, although these rumours have been rubbished.

Bittar addressed this by adding, “No one mentioned anything to me about interest from Nice. He deserves to be where he is.”

Leon expected to stay

Considering that United only paid around £3m for Leon, as well as the fact that he is only 18 years old, it is more than understandable that he isn’t in a rush to break into the first team.

It has become increasingly common at clubs around the country that their top academy talents are growing restless, and are trying to force themselves into the first team picture when they don’t necessarily need to.

It can be seen as a positive that Leon is happy to bide his time and wait for a suitable introduction to the United first team, which will surely happen in the coming years if he can continue to develop.

In a season where the Reds only have the Premier League left to play for, it is unsurprising that Leon has lacked first-team involvement, but as long as he is still a constant feature for the U21’s, there is nothing to worry about.
