“No brainer…” – Christian Eriksen told to make obvious Man United transfer decision after manager comments
Christian Eriksen has been told by former Danish defender Mikkel Bischoff that he should depart Manchester United in the summer in a “no-brainer” move.
Eriksen, 32, joined United in the summer of 2022 and was key during Erik ten Hag’s first season in charge at Old Trafford.
The Danish midfielder built a solid relationship with Casemiro in the engine room and helped The Reds finish third in the Premier League and win the Carabao Cup.
However, his role has diminished this term. Kobbie Mainoo has emerged as a consistent starter, whilst the additions of Sofyan Amrabat and Mason Mount have further dented Eriksen’s chances in the first eleven.
The ex-Tottenham Hotspur player has also shown signs of decline, with his struggles out of possession seeming even clearer than last season, without the quality to make up for it.
Former Danish defender Mikkel Bischoff believes that a move away for his fellow countryman is the right move in the summer.
“It looks like it. Eriksen is gone this summer. He doesn’t really fit in at Manchester United anymore,” Bischoff told Discovery, relayed by PL Bold.
BT commentator Lasse Vøge added: “A switch back to Thomas Frank and Brentford would be a great solution in my eyes, almost a ‘no brainer’. Right now, he’s just a fringe player.”
This follows shortly on from the comments of Brentford boss Thomas Frank, who addressed the idea of Eriksen returning to the club.
“He will always be welcome back! Christian will always be. I think he knows that well. And we know he had a good time here,” Frank told Tipsbladet.
