Manchester United have been handed a double injury boost as they prepare to face Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup on Wednesday.

Manchester United will take on Nottingham Forest in the fifth round of the FA Cup this week, with Erik ten Hag‘s job potentially in the balance.

The club have suffered a huge injury crisis for the entire 2023/24 campaign, with almost every single player in the squad facing a spell on the sidelines at points in the season.

There were fears that Casemiro would be unable to play after he had to be substituted off in the second half after a clash during the Fulham loss, but Ten Hag has since confirmed that he will be available against Forest.

“Yes. It was a bleeding, so he had to come off,” Ten Hag said on Casemior on Tuesday afternoon. “It was definitely not in our advantage that he couldn’t continue the game but he is available for tomorrow.”

However, on the other hand, United could be without three key players for this clash after Ten Hag confirmed that Harry Maguire was unavailable, and there were doubts over Raphaël Varane and Bruno Fernandes.

There has been a positive update on Mason Mount, who is set to rejoin the squad in the next few weeks, according to X account INSIDERUTD1, who is often reliable regarding team news.

Beyond this, United still have several players unavailable for the FA Cup clash.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is believed to be unavailable for at least another few weeks, while Tyrell Malacia is not set to return to grass training until early March.

Luke Shaw was recently ruled out for three months with the reoccurrence of a leg problem and is now facing a battle to get back fit before the end of the season – although the thought is that he will be available for selection for England for the summer’s EURO 2024 tournament.

Lisandro Martínez and Anthony Martial are both out for at least another month, with neither player set to be available until the beginning of April.
