Moise Kean has responded to transfer interest from Rúben Amorim’s Manchester United this summer amid the Old Trafford club’s need for a new striker.
With Manchester United shopping around for fresh goalscoring talent this summer, Moise Kean is the latest name to be linked with a move to Old Trafford.
Many reports have detailed that Rúben Amorim’s club are tracking Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap, with the Englishman proving himself in the Premier League despite his side’s relegation, while the club are also close to securing a deal for winger Matheus Cunha.
But, with Delap being courted by many clubs this summer, there is no guarantee that United will be able to secure the £30 million man, which is why they are also assessing the feasibility of signing other targets.
Kean has previous experience in the Premier League with Everton, and United are said to be interested in the Italian striker’s services if a deal can be agreed with his current club, Fiorentina.
Kean has responded to United’s transfer interest
Kean’s current contract has a release clause of around £42.4 million, which is only valid between 1 and 15 July. This means United have a two-week window to make a bid if they want to secure the player next month.
According to Sky Switzerland journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Kean has already informed United that he would be keen on joining Amorim’s squad this summer as he wants to have another stint playing in the Premier League.
Keane rose to prominence as a talented teenager with Juventus, but his time with Everton saw the player’s stocks diminish as he failed to establish himself in England.
However, with Fiorentina, the 25-year-old has found his feet again, scoring 23 times in 42 appearances across all competitions, helping lead the Serie A side to a top-half finish in the league and the Conference League semi-finals.
Kean’s United transfer decision contains a key condition
However, Kean’s openness to join United this summer comes with a caveat that United have faced on multiple occasions so far.
Accoreding to the above report from Tavolieri, Kean’s intent to join United comes with the condition that they qualify for the Champions League next season.
United are just one step from securing themselves a spot in the famed European competition, with the winner of the Europa League final between Amorim’s Reds and Tottenham Hotspur gaining a place in next season’s competition.
Champions League qualification is also said to be a condition of Delap’s before picking his next club this summer. Playing in the competition next season could see United earn as much as an extra £85 million while becoming a much more attractive destination for players this summer.
