Marcus Rashford reveals his “main objective” at Aston Villa after Manchester United loan
Marcus Rashford is prepared to make an impact for Aston Villa after completing a move on loan from Manchester United on the weekend.
Marcus Rashford will spend the rest of the season at Aston Villa after the two club’s announced the loan deal on Sunday evening.
The 27-year-old forward has not played for United since early December after indicating his desire for a new challenge.
In his absence, Ruben Amorim’s team has struggled in front of goal, with only Amad and Bruno Fernandes scoring more Premier League goals than the No. 10.
Rashford has endured a tough couple of years at United, with fans and pundits— including Wayne Rooney—suggesting that a move could reignite his form.
He now joins a Villa side pushing for a top-four finish and competing in the Champions League knockout stages, where he will look to make a strong impression.

That appears to be the forward’s focus, as he admits that winning the Champions League is his “main objective” while on loan at the Villains.
“I think it’s clear, you know, we’re obviously still in the Champions League and we want to go as far as we can in that,” he told Villa’s club media team.
“If you don’t aim to win it then you’re never going to win it so that will be my main objective and keep pushing in the league to go as high as possible.
“[It’s] hugely exciting, obviously the biggest competition for for club to be involved in and it’s always great nights, so I’m sure it’d be a new experience for me playing for Villa in the Champions League.
“But like I said, it’s always going to be a great moment but the aims remains the same to try and do our best to win it.”
The Premier League outfit have qualified for the round-of-16 after finishing in the top eight after the league phase.
Rashford has made 33 appearances in European’s elite competition, registering 12 goals and three assists in that time.
His highlight came against RB Leipzig at Old Trafford where he scored an 18 minute hat-trick after coming off the bench in the second half.
Before his involvement in that competition, the 27-year-old is likely to make his debut in the FA Cup this week against Tottenham Hotspur.
He will not be cup-tied for the game as he was not involved in United’s win over Arsenal in the third-round.
