Six clubs interested in Marcus Rashford as Manchester United change transfer stance
According to a new report, as many as six clubs are circling Marcus Rashford as Manchester United adjusts their transfer plans for the struggling forward.
Marcus Rashford is set to leave Manchester United in 2025 after a dramatic interview in which the 27-year-old revealed his desire for a new challenge.
The forward, who enjoyed a standout 30-goal season under Erik ten Hag in 2022/23, has struggled to replicate that success. Under Rúben Amorim, Rashford has fallen out of favour, with Amad Diallo and Bruno Fernandes taking precedence in attacking roles.
Having spent nearly 20 years at the club, Rashford’s journey began with a sensational debut at 18, scoring twice against FC Midtjylland in the Europa League and another brace against Arsenal in his first Premier League outing.
Now, with Manchester United reportedly open to offers of around £40 million, Rashford’s departure seems inevitable, marking the end of a storied era at Old Trafford as he seeks new horizons.
Up to six clubs interest in Rashford
According to journalist Tom McDermott, who has regularly contributed to the Daily Mail and The Sun, Rashford has seen up to six clubs interested in him for the coming months, although the names of these clubs are not listed.
However, there have been other reports of clubs looking at Rashford, although Serie A side Napoli have already rejected the chance to sign him.
There have also been reports that both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are hesitant to take the player on due to his wage demands, despite La Liga being his reported favourite destination this summer.
The Saudi Pro League are said to have placed Rashford on a target list of elite players they may choose to sign in the coming months, although any side from the region would need to sell to buy him due to their maximum foreign players rule.
United adjust their Rashford transfer stance
All this comes admid a report dtailng that United are have changed their transfer stance on the player.
Although United initially sought a quick, permanent sale, reports from earlier this week have shed light on this, explaining that the club would now be open to letting him leave on loan in January.
A price tag of around £40 million has been placed on his potential transfer, according to the Daily Mail, but a short-term loan in the winter market may be the more preferable choice if he cannot find a way back onto the pitch for Amorim.
Just like Sancho last year, Rashford could head out of the door for United for six months to find more consistent game time and rediscover his form, which would make suitors more at ease to pay his wages and also help increase his value ahead of a summer transfer.
