Marcus Rashford’s loan fee has been revealed as one club hopes to announce his temporary move from Manchester United by Thursday this week.

Marcus Rashford is expected to leave Manchester United in 2025 after a revealing interview confirmed the 27-year-old’s desire to explore a new challenge.

Rashford, who once spearheaded United’s attack with a remarkable 30-goal season under Erik ten Hag in 2022/23, has struggled to recapture that form. Under Rúben Amorim, he has seen his role diminish, with Amad and Bruno Fernandes now preferred in the attacking setup.

Rashford’s decline in prominence is highlighted by his absence from United’s last six matches. Having been with the club for nearly 20 years, his journey began with a spectacular debut as an 18-year-old, scoring twice against FC Midtjylland in the Europa League and another brace against Arsenal in his Premier League debut.

Reports suggest United are open to loaning Rashford in January, with a permanent transfer expected in the summer. His departure now seems inevitable, bringing an end to a storied era at Old Trafford as he prepares for a new chapter in his career.

Rashford’s loan fee revealed

According to Bild, Borussia Dortmund are now believed to be leading the race for the 27-year-old winger, with AC Milan having given up on their pursuit of the player.

According to the German report, Dortmund would be shelling out just shy of £6 million in wages. This could rise to over £7 million if he stays on for the Club World Cup across June and July.

This is not the first time United and Dortmund have engaged in a loan deal, and are said to have a decent working relationship after Jadon Sancho’s six-month loan to the Bundesliga side last campaign.

Every penny United save in the next few months will be crucial to their profit and sustainability position. Although it was deemed they did not break any regulations last campaign, they are still in a tight financial position.

Rashford’s transfer announcement details

While a full agreement is yet to be reached, Bild further explain that Dortmund are hoping the transfer will be completed sooner rather than later.

According to the report, Nuri Sahin’s side are hoping that they will be able to announce an agreement for his loan by Thursday evening at the latest.

This is because the club hope Rashford will be able to feature against Werder Bremen on Saturday afternoon.

However, there is another obstacle, with other reports claiming that the winger’s preference is still to sign for Barcelona, but the La Liga outfit are struggling to register players.
