Marcus Rashford slammed with Erik ten Hag gone “by Christmas”, Manchester United legends say
Marcus Rashford has been slammed for his performance against Liverpool as a Manchester United legend predicts that Erik ten Hag will not last until Christmas.
Manchester United suffered their second defeat in three matches, going down 3-0 to Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday evening.
Casemiro‘s two errors in the first half allowed Mohamed Salah to assist Luis Díaz with two excellent goals. Even after Toby Collyer replaced the Brazilian at half time, Liverpool remained in control, and Salah’s third goal sealed the win.

However, former United player Paul Parker has focused on Marcus Rashford after the game, explaining that the England winger did not do enough to take advantage of Trent Alexander-Arnold.
“The one thing you do when you’re having a bad game is you try so hard to make the person who you’re up against ineffective. The way you make yourself effective is just to work hard.
“That’s how you judge good players who become great players in certain ways because if you’re not right at least you’re making it difficult. Marcus Rashford doesn’t do that. He had opportunities to run in that second half one on one with Konate.”
Parker continued: “Trent Alexander-Arnold is a poor defender and he didn’t really take those opportunities. Never looked like he wanted to try and run with the ball at all. Never once did he try to run the other side of either of those two players.
“If he makes those runs and doesn’t get the ball, it creates space for someone else. And that’s being unselfish. He never did that. He’s a wide player. His strength is the fact that he’s a good athlete, but he doesn’t want to use his strength. He’s trying to get the ball to his feet and to try stepovers which isn’t his strength.”
Further, United legend Teddy Sheringham has explained that he feels Ten Hag will be out of his job by Christmas as the football at the club is “not good enough.”
“When you’re finishing eighth in the Premier League, that’s quite clearly not good enough, for Man United. Full stop. End of story, for me. You’ve got to change what’s going on.
“When you look at the inconsistency of last season, and that has followed on, without a shadow of the doubt in the first three games of this season… you can see there’s been no change whatsoever.
“Different players, maybe. But still no change in the philosophy, and the way Erik ten Hag wants to play. Look, I don’t want to see people getting sacked. It’s not nice to say that people shouldn’t be in certain positions, but he shouldn’t be there. It’s not good enough for Man United.
“Do I think the manager will be there at the end of the season? No, I don’t. I think he’ll be gone by Christmas.”
