Marcus Rashford and Casemiro have agreed on Ruben Amorim’s impact after his first Manchester United training session on Monday afternoon.

Manchester United are gearing up for a tough winter schedule under new head coach Ruben Amorim, which features key clashes against Manchester City and Arsenal.

Sitting 13th in the Premier League table, Amorim’s main objective is to elevate the team’s performance and close the four-point gap to the top four.

After starting his role last week, the 39-year-old was able to finally get to work on the grass at Carrington on Monday after he and his team received visa approvals.

The club uploaded images and clips from the session which showed the group in high spirits and some players operating in slightly different positions.

Amorim was in the centre of training. Whether it was duelling with Jonny Evans or guiding Kobbie Mainoo through the art of disguising your intent to receive a pass, the new boss was very involved.

It also seemed intense, with the Portuguese coach keeping a keen eye on his stopwatch and regularly recreating defensive transitional moments for his team where they would have to sprint back into shape.

During the training game, you could see the team lined up in Amorim’s 3-4-3 formation and there were some clear patterns being worked on.

For a first session, and the limited footage fans received, it looked promising from Amorim and his team and that is exactly what some of the players had to say about it as well.

Taking to Instagram later that evening, Marcus Rashford re-shared a photo of him during training and captioned it, “Top session today 🤩”.

Those thoughts were echoed by United’s Brazilian midfielder Casemiro, who went on to post on X, “Top training”.

Several youngsters were included in that session due to the lack of first-team numbers during the international break.

The levels will hopefully only improve when the full squad is back together and Amorim has more time to communicate his methods and ideas across.
