Manuel Ugarte’s new price tag has been revealed as Paris Saint-Germain have “lowered their demands” for the Manchester United target.

United are still aiming to make several sales before the transfer deadline, while also pushing hard to sign PSG’s Manuel Ugarte.

Renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that Ugarte is keen to make the move to Old Trafford, with the latest updates indicating that a deal is close to completion.

David Ornstein has revealed that Napoli’s agreement with United to acquire Scottish international Scott McTominay for approximately £25.4 million significantly strengthens United’s chances of landing Ugarte.

It has since been detailed by the trusted Uruguayan outlet El País that negotiations between United and PSG for the 23-year-old midfielder are “practically closed.”

It also mentions that Ugarte is set to leave for Manchester in the “next few hours” after ironing out a few minor details. Everything is “on track” for a swift move to Old Trafford.

Previously, many reports claimed that PSG were unwilling to budge on their £51 million price tag for the midfielder. United initially walked away from a move due to the valuation.

The aforementioned report added that United offered in the region of £44 million for Ugarte and that PSG have lowered their initial price demands. Further details of potential add-ons were not detailed in the report.

United face Liverpool next Sunday, and the club will be hoping to have a deal for Ugarte over the line in time for that.

However, considering how Erik ten Hag has approached bringing Matthijs de Ligt – who also barely had a pre-season – into the team, it’s likely that Ugarte would be on the bench for that game.

Then, an international break will come before the Reds return with a game against Southampton.
