Manchester United’s valuation of “unbelievable” star gives European giant the perfect opportunity for transfer hijack

Manchester United’s valuation of one of their players has given one European giant the perfect opportunity to hijack a potential transfer.

Jadon Sancho’s spell at Manchester United has been disappointing for both the player and the club, and it’s become increasingly evident that a permanent split is necessary this summer.

United fans expected that outcome when Chelsea initially agreed to take Sancho on loan with an obligation to buy last summer. However, the London club ultimately paid a penalty fee to avoid finalising the permanent transfer.

In recent weeks, Sancho’s representatives have been exploring possible destinations in preparation for his likely departure. Napoli have recently emerged as one of the clubs expressing interest in the 25-year-old winger.

Still, reaching any kind of deal may prove challenging, as Sancho is reluctant to significantly reduce his wages significantly, having been on a reported £300,000 per week at Old Trafford.

European giants given perfect opportunity for Sancho hijack

There has been some movement on the Sancho saga in recent days and it looks like Napoli are a realistic destination for the player, who has been described as an “unbelievable talent”.

However, the latest information coming from Corriere del Mezzogiorno has claimed that the Serie A champions have had an ‘intense’ conversation with Sancho’s camp to explain how United’s £22 million valuation is too high for them.

This, in turn, has given their Italian rivals and European giants Juventus the perfect opportunity to hijack the deal for the United winger.

The report states that Juventus are long-term admirers of Sancho and have reignited that interest in recent weeks. They are also in direct contact with United about a potential deal.

Early Sancho transfer best for all parties

An early solution to this transfer would be brilliant for United, as many had expected it to be one that could stretch into the final days of the window.

There is simply no chance of Sancho returning to Old Trafford. You could imagine a world where things are patched up for the likes of Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho or Antony.

But the ex-Borussia Dortmund winger simply won’t continue with the club, so it’s in everyone’s best interests to get a deal over the line as soon as possible.

With the Italian clubs interested in him, it’s now time to see if they are actually willing to pay, and Sancho’s wage demands could end up being crucial to any deal.
