Manchester United are closely monitoring the situation of Aston Villa’s star midfielder Boubacar Kamara along with Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.
The 20-time Premier League champions are all looking to turn things around in the Premier League next season. Therefore, a locker room refresh is one of the strongest priorities of United coming this window.
The club hierarchy are already making their moves to bring in big names to their squad next season that will fit Ruben Amorim’s approach of the game.
From Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap to Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze, the club has been linked with multiple Premier League stars as we are inching in to the season-end.
Recent reports suggest that United are now closely monitoring the situation of an Aston Villa star midfielder, who is also being watched by their rivals Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool.
United are closely monitoring Aston Villa’s Kamara
There have been news circulating that the Villains are ready to offer their star midfielder Boubacar Kamara an appealing contract.
However, before they head onto their fixture against the Parisians for Champions League quarter-final, reports came in that the the midfielder is now being watched by four elite Premier League teams.
Ever since coming from a long-term injury back in October, the 25-year-old has been an integral part of Unai Emery’s team and its success. Therefore, the club is ready to offer him a bumper new contract- as per L’Equipe.
Prior to this bombshell drop, Liverpool already had Kamara in their summer window list. Now, in a rather ‘conveniently-timed’ report, the French Daily has stated that Arsenal, United, and Chelsea have joined Liverpool and are actively monitoring the situation.
A league-tested option for Amorim?
It goes without saying that United have came short in numerous occasions when it comes to winning the midfield battle in the league matches, which has been important this season.
Other than Bruno Fernandes and decent performances from Manuel Ugarte, Amorim has struggled to have someone reliable to control the tempo of the game, especially with the absence of Kobee Mainoo.
Kamara is a versatile defensive midfielder. He has been utilized as a defender in multiple occasions this season by Unai Emery. Moreover, his partnership with the Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans have been integral in Aston Villa’s success so far in Premier League and Champions League.

Kamara’s versatility to play in multiple positions along with his ability to read the game is something that Manchester United needs in their midfield. However, there’s one thing that needs to be noted that the midfielder’s contract runs until the summer of 2027.
