Manchester United’s potential opponents in the Europa League round of 16
Manchester United’s 2-1 (4-3) win against Barcelona in the Europa League knock-out play-off round means they will be in Friday’s draw for the round of 16, but who could they face?
Manchester United will learn about their Europa League last-16 opponents tomorrow after securing a stunning comeback win over Barcelona.
Erik Ten Hag’s side finished runners-up in their group (E), which meant The Reds needed to get past the La Liga leaders in Barcelona, who dropped down from the Champions League, to book their spots in the last 16 proper.
The draw occurs at 11:00 GMT on Friday, 24 February.
United could face many seeded sides who topped their group during the first phase of the Europa League earlier in the season.
Nonetheless, they will not face Arsenal until at least the quarter-final stage because both sides compete from the same nation.
Who could Manchester United face in the Europa League last-16 draw?
Fenerbahçe
Ferencvárosi
Feyenoord
Fribourg
Real Betis
Real Sociedad
Royale Union Saint-Gilloise
Due to the nature of the tie, United are listed as an unseeded team, meaning they cannot play any other unseeded sides such as Juventus or Sevilla during the round of 16.
The first and second legs will be played on March 9th and the following 16th, respectively.
