Manchester United’s full budget for the 2025 summer transfer window after losing Europa League final revealed

Manchester United’s budget for the 2025 summer transfer window has been revealed after they lost the Europa League final this week.

A disastrous campaign ended in the worst possible way for Manchester United as they lost the Europa League final to Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday evening.

Ruben Amorim’s failed to show up in Bilbao and did not score once over 90 minutes against a Spurs side known for their defensive fragilities.

There was a lot of chatter about United still being able to secure Champions League football for next season and that has now disappeared.

Along with that has gone the extra money the club would have received by qualifying for European competition, which impacts United’s summer budget.

United’s budget for summer window revealed

The Reds need to have mass change this summer and a couple of signings will not cut it. But their budget has now been revealed.

According to The Guardian, the club has a transfer budget of just under £100 million to work with this summer, and will be relying on player sales after spending that amount.

Matheus Cunha is still expected to join despite the club being without European football, and he will cost just over £60 million.

Liam Delap is another player who the Reds are targeting although it remains to be seen whether he will choose to join United over other interested parties.

The English striker would cost £30 million and so both players could be signed without the club making any sales, although many more changes need to be made.

United do not need large squad

United need to sign players in several more areas. You can argue they need at least two more attacking players on top of Cunha and Delap, another midfielder or two and a wingback.

That is at the very least, and sales need to occur in order for that to happen. All four senior players on loan – Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia – are all set to be sold.

But now that the club do not have European football, there is no need for a large squad and many other players should see the exit door.

Jonny Evans, Christian Eriksen and Victor Lindelöf are going to leave at the end of their contracts, while players like André Onana and Rasmus Højlund should also be moved on.

The summer window just got more difficult for United, but the importance of it has not changed at all.
