Manchester United’s £60m offer for Bryan Mbeumo includes payment change that will please Brentford

Manchester United have submitted a second bid for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo and it is said to be worth around £60 million.

Bryan Mbeumo is the priority target at Manchester United after the secured the signing of Matheus Cunha earlier this month.

The Reds registered interest in the Brentford forward and he quickly made it clear to other suitors, like Newcastle and Tottenham, that he wanted a move to Old Trafford.

An opening offer worth £55 million was rejected by the Bees and it has taken United several weeks to officially table another bid for the player.

Several reports have now revealed that the Reds have submitted an offer in excess of £60 million and that there is a feeling an agreement will be reached.

United’s £60m offer for Mbeumo includes payment change

One of the main reasons why Brentford rejected United’s opening offer for Mbeumo was due to the low upfront payment they included – it was £45 million, plus £10 million in add-ons.

It was explained at the time that the London club wanted a deal which didn’t include as many add-ons, especially when they are team-based ones.

Now, a report from ESPN has revealed that United’s new offer is not only closer to Brentford’s desired fee – between £60-65m – but also has a higher proportion of the fee due up front.

The report added that United are confident of a deal and part of that is likely due to the fact that the payment structure has been adjusted to Brentford’s preference.

United want Mbeumo deal as soon as possible

United will want to have Mbeumo through the door as soon as possible after confirming that pre-season will begin on 7 July.

The preparation for the upcoming campaign is crucial for Amorim, who is eager to have his important signings through the door for that first training session.

While it feels unlikely that a striker or midfielder is brought in time for that deadline, having Mbeumo and Cunha is much better than the Brazilian being the lone addition.

Both players are expected to slot straight into Amorim’s team and improve the underperforming attack which was a constant problem at Old Trafford last season.
