Manchester United’s Monday transfer round-up includes a twist in David de Gea’s contract situation, a potential swap deal for Andre Onana, as well as the price being revealed for both the demanded fees of Rasmus Højlund.

Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United transfer window is still yet to start peaking, with the takeover said to be delaying the club’s ability to sign players.

Here is the latest round-up of Monday’s transfer news:

A twist in David de Gea’s contract talks

The latest news surrounding David de Gea’s contract talks prior to Monday was that he was stalling on signing a new deal as he wanted better terms.

However, it is now being said that instead of De Gea being the one to stall the deal, it is in fact the club that are causing delays.

This is according to Fabrizio Romano, who says that De Gea is waiting on the club to give the new deal the green light.

A swap deal for André Onana?

According to Simon Jones from Mail Sport, Erik ten Hag likes Inter Milan’s Andre Onana as a keeper who could play out from the back to better effect than David de Gea – but he would cost in the region of £45m.

It is said that in order to reduce this fee, there is one possibility that the two clubs could agree on a swap deal, as Inter do like some of Manchester United’s fringe players.

More on Rasmus Højlund’s potential transfer fee

According to James Ducker of the Telegraph, Atalanta are thought to have slapped a price tag of at least £80m on Rasmus Hojlund, which is considered excessive as things stand.

Further to this, Romano claimed that United want a ‘realistic price’ for Højlund, and they feel that the current tag for his signature is too much. United know that Hojlund really wants a move to Old Trafford.

Eric Bailly for peanuts

Eric Bailly has lost his place at Manchester United in the last two seasons, having spent the year on loan at Marseille, who are not planning on making his deal permanent.

Jones explains that United want £2m for Bailly, who is gathering interest from Real Betis.

Marcus Rashford’s new deal is pending

Multiple reports have claimed that Marcus Rashford is on the verge of signing a new deal at Manchester United that would make him the highest-paid player at the club.

It is said by Ducker that the negotiations for a new contract are at an ‘advanced stage’, with Romano saying he is ready to accept the proposal.

Rashford scored for England during their 7-0 romping of North Macedonia at Old Trafford on Monday evening.
