With the transfer window closing on 30 August, the club are still looking for further sales opportunities. In addition to these efforts, United are focused on reinforcing their midfield by targeting PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte as a critical acquisition.

Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano has outlined Ugarte is eagerly pushing for a transfer to Old Trafford.

According to the Manchester Evening News, United have now outlined four transfers that they aim to complete before Friday’s 23:00 BST deadline, with one incoming and three outgoings.

Firstly, United’s move for Ugarte is pretty much complete. Reports from Uruguay claim that only the final details of the transfer need to be ironed out following progress in talks with PSG on Friday.

A further report from Duncan Castles claimed that a fee of around £42 million plus a further £8.4 million in add-ons had been agreed after talks between the clubs on Monday.

Secondly, everything is “headline in the right direction” for McTominay to be sold in the coming days after United accepted a fee of around £25 million for the Scottish international from Serie A side Napoli.

Thirdly, it has been explained that a private jet is scheduled to fly from Manchester to Turin on Monday as United pursue formal talks with Juventus for Jadon Sancho. Chelsea have been credited with interest in the player, but as of now, a move to the Serie A giants looks more likely.

Finally, United are aiming to sell midfielder Hannibal Mejbri. According to Sacha Tavolieri, the young Tunisian arrived at the stadium of Championship club Burnley to undergo a medical before a move from United this summer.

Fabrizio Romano further confirmed that the deal will be a loan with an obligation to buy, although a fee is not mentioned.
