Manchester United told they must hijack £100m Premier League transfer for star who is ‘just like Bruno Fernandes’

Manchester United have been told they must look to hijack a £100 million Premier League transfer this summer for a star who is just like Bruno Fernandes.

Manchester United are looking to conduct a complete revolution within Rúben Amorim’s team after finishing 15th in the Premier League table last season.

With the club facing financial difficulties and many of Amorim’s players having been deemed unfit to play for the club, United have reportedly placed every player at Old Trafford up for sale at the right price.

Although key players such as Bruno Fernandes, Amad, and Leny Yoro seem less likely to be sold, big-name players like Rasmus Højlund and Alejandro Garnacho look headed out of the door if a suitable offer arrives.

Although United are concentrating their early summer transfer window efforts in signing Matheus Cunha and Liam Delap, the club are still targeting several new reinforcements ahead of next season across the attacking, midfield, and defensive lines.

United urged to hijack Man City’s £100m transfer

With the club in dire need of fresh attacking talent, former United striker and club legend Teddy Sheringham has urged his old side to consider a bid for Nottingham Forest talisman Morgan Gibbs-White, who Manchester City are targeting as their replacement for departing Kevin De Bruyne.

The England international is said to command a fee of as much as £100 million and has been compared to Fernandes in terms of his work rate and future talent.

I think he definitely could be the man to replace Kevin De Bruyne, but I think that he could be exactly the player that Manchester United should be going for,” Sherringham explained.

“He is certainly one player who shines like a beacon, someone who makes a difference on the football pitch. He will definitely very much be sought after during the summer transfer window.

“He’s top of my list at the moment. I just think if he’s available to move on and he’s ready to leave Forest, I think every club would want him in their armoury.”

United already know their alternatives to Gibbs-White

While Gibbs-White is no doubt a fantastic player and will go on to secure a great career, United already know that the 25-year-old does not quite fit the mould of talent they are looking for.

Assuming Fernandes stays at United beyond this summer, the club captain is expected to drop into a deeper midfield role as time passes, instead competing with the likes of Kobbie Mainoo in central-midfield positions as opposed to part of the front three.

In the attack, United are instead looking to sign wide players who have a gift for playing inside the pitch, too, such as Cunha.

United are also looking at potentially signing Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo or Bournemouth’s wide-man Antoine Semenyo, with both players better suiting the mould that the club want instead of Gibbs-White.

Also, the English midfielder’s price tag may be an issue, with United limited in funds and needing to sell significant assets if they are to break their club-record fee to compete with Manchester City this summer.
