Manchester United ‘tell Juventus Rasmus Højlund’s transfer price’ after Fabrizio Romano’s bombshell transfer claim

According to a new report, Manchester United have told Juventus what they will demand for Rasmus Højlund this summer, with the striker interested in a move.

Rasmus Højlund’s second season at Manchester United has not lived up to the billing after a tough time under new head coach Rúben Amorim.

United signed the 22-year-old from Atalanta in August 2023 for a fee of around £72 million, and the Danish international repaid the club’s faith by ending his debut campaign as the side’s top scorer, with 16 goals across all competitions, including five in the Champions League group stages.

However, he started life slowly during the first half of 2024/25, failing to replicate his goal-scoring form at the start of 2024, although he scored five goals in six games once Amorim replaced Erik ten Hag as manager.

But the striker then went on a 99-day barren run of form that saw him fail to score in 23 straight appearances before finally netting against Leicester City in March, although he has come under fire for his performances in the last few weeks.

United name Højlund price tag

According to a new report from the Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web, United have been in contact with Juventus regarding a potential transfer for Højlund this summer.

It has been claimed that preliminary talks have already been held between the two clubs regarding the Dane’s future.

However, as per the above report, although United will consider Højlund’s future in the summer, it is stated that Amorim’s side will not entertain any offers sat below £52 million.

With United signing Højlund for £72 million on a five-year contract, his amortisation value means the club would have to sell him for at least £43.2 million this summer in order to record any profit on his sale.

Romano’s bombshell update on Højlund

This claim comes following a piece of bombshell news from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano surrounding the striker’s future this summer.

Prior to the club’s 2-2 draw with Olympique Lyonnais on Thursday evening, Romano posted a video on his YouTube channel that confirmed Højlund’s future has now become “one to watch” within football circles, with the player no longer safe from a transfer.

He explained that across April United had taken multiple calls from both Juventus and Napoli regarding his availability this summer amid both clubs want to sign a new striker. Højlund is said to be well regarded in Italy after his stint with Atalanta before his United move.

Romano also namedropped Inter Milan as another club that could enter the race for Højlund, with the Milan side also looking to bring in fresh attacking talent.
