Manchester United are strongly positioned for an interesting transfer move following the conclusion of the club’s end-of-season review.

Erik ten Hag’s future at Old Trafford is now clarified after United decision-makers told the manager that they were looking to move forward with him at the helm.

That situation was limiting the club’s ability in the transfer market, and they will now be looking to make deals happen ahead of an important season next term.

According to a new report from French outlet le10sport, Youssouf Fofana will leave AS Monaco this summer and United are the club best positioned to sign the midfielder.

Fofana, 25, made 35 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit last term and is now looking forward to the next steps in his career. The report claimed that he wants to leave Monaco and that he has a ‘particular affection’ for the Premier League.

Recent reports have linked United with the midfielder and le10sport also claimed that the Reds are already ‘strongly positioned’ on Fofana despite having not yet tabled a bid for him.

The report also mentioned that AC Milan and Juventus are also interested in the 25-year-old but reiterated that United are the most keen on making a deal possible.

It is yet to be confirmed what financial demands Monaco will make but they do not have much power considering the player’s preference to leave and that he only has a year remaining on his contract.

United will likely be in need of two midfield signings due to the expected departures of Christian Eriksen and Casemiro.

UtdDistrict also understands that the club are open to offers for Scott McTominay to aid their financial position since his sale would present pure profit on the balance sheets.

Centre-back and striker are other positions that United regard as priorities this summer. Ivan Toney is among a group of centre-forwards that are being monitored.
