One Manchester United summer target is reportedly “very keen” on a move to Old Trafford as Ruben Amorim pushes for the deal.

Ruben Amorim prioritised strengthening Manchester United’s squad ahead of the January transfer window, with a particular focus on the wingback position.

To address this need, United secured the signing of Patrick Dorgu for £25 million, handing him his debut at right wingback against Leicester City, despite his natural preference for the left side.

However, given the club’s current situation, fans will be expecting major signings in the summer, as United’s leadership continues to target promising young talents in line with recent transfer strategies.

One highly linked prospect is 17-year-old Sporting starlet Geovany Quenda, with some reports suggesting an agreement has already been reached between the clubs for a summer transfer.

Quenda developed under Amorim in Portugal and was deployed as his right wingback before United swooped in to appoint the manager.

Quenda very keen on United move

New reports from TeamTalk have suggested that those at Old Trafford are expecting a deal for Quenda to be completed in the summer window.

It was explained that Amorim has been a “big driver” for the deal as he rates the teenager highly from working with him in Portugal.

Quenda has two goals and seven assists so far this season for Sporting, including a wonderful assist in their last league game against Porto.

The aforementioned report added that the Portuguese youngster is very keen on linking back up with his former manager and that a deal is likely to be able to be done for under his £83 million release clause.

Should Quenda join the club, the report says that Amorim is planning to use him on the right flank and new signing Patrick Dorgu on the left side.

Amorim’s biggest struggle at the club so far has been the limited nature of the wingbacks as his disposal and those two players would certainly help solve that problem.
