Manchester United star’s father ‘makes clear’ his son wants to leave Old Trafford, he has ‘expressed respect’ to interested club

One Manchester United star’s father has made it clear that his son is open to leaving Old Trafford before the summer transfer deadline.

After completing deals for Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Šeško this summer, Manchester United are now focused on raising funds through player sales.

Further additions remain possible in midfield and in goal before the transfer deadline, with Carlos Baleba identified as the preferred option to strengthen the engine room.

However, United will need to generate income before making new moves, having already spent close to £200 million without recording any sales.

Among those who could depart are Rasmus Højlund and Alejandro Garnacho, with both attracting interest ahead of the transfer deadline later this month.

Hojlund’s father expresses respect to AC Milan

AC Milan have been one of the clubs interested in Højlund this summer and the Italian club are beginning to change the striker’s mind on the move after it was made clear United want him to leave.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Højlund’s father, Anders, has made it clear to Milan that the striker is open to leaving United and making the move to the Rossoneri.

He reportedly expressed the family’s respect for the club’s rich history and appreciation for how determined Milan have been in their pursuit this summer.

The next stage in negotiations will see the 22-year-old sit down with Milan officials to discuss the club’s sporting project and clarify his prospective role in the squad.

These talks are expected to include head coach Max Allegri, who will outline his tactical vision and explain how Højlund would fit into his system.

Milan move best for Hojlund

A move back to Italy would probably be the best for Hojlund, and United will be hoping that they can get a fee from the Dane.

If that does not happen, then a favourable loan fee could be the best they will receive, and they will then hope that a positive season will raise Hojlund’s value.

Meanwhile, the focus for United will turn to making sure Sesko doesn’t have a similar Old Trafford experience to his age-mate.

The experience of Mbeumo and Cunha, as well as a stronger overall team, will hopefully mean that the new addition thrives under Amorim.
