One Manchester United star is reportedly unsatisfied with his time under Ruben Amorim and several clubs are monitoring his situation.
Manchester United are now shifting their attention to player departures as Ruben Amorim works to overhaul his squad at Old Trafford.
The club have already completed the £62.5 million signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers and are actively pursuing Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford. However, their initial offer of £45 million plus £10 million in add-ons was turned down, with negotiations ongoing.
United are also targeting reinforcements in midfield and up front, while the addition of a new goalkeeper could be on the cards if André Onana leaves the club.
With several players set to leave once their contracts expire at the end of the month, more departures are expected in the weeks ahead as Amorim continues reshaping the squad.
United star unsatisfied under Amorim
Rasmus Højlund is one player the Reds are open to selling this summer after a dismal campaign at Old Trafford and there are several clubs reportedly interested in him.
A report from Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla explained that Højlund has been ‘unsatisfied’ with his time in Manchester and wants to return to the Serie A – this goes against reports elsewhere claiming he wants to stay and fight for a place at Old Trafford.
Højlund has been criticised heavily for his form over the last six months in particular, although Amorim has consistently defended his striker in the media.
The aforementioned report stated that there are several Serie A clubs, including Inter Milan, interested in signing Højlund this summer although it was not mentioned how much they’d be willing to pay.
After paying over £70 million for him two years ago, United would likely need at least £35-40 million in a permanent deal for the Danish forward this summer.
Højlund and Garnacho’s exits would be a shame
The likes of Højlund and Alejandro Garnacho probably leaving United this summer is a shame in one way.
Despite being frustrating as starters over the last year, both players should have probably never been in the position to be guaranteed in the team every week.
Now that top quality players forward players are being targeted, Garnacho and Højlund would have likely improved more as squad players in the team, especially the Argentine winger.

It remains to be seen who will be signed upfront but it certainly should not be another unproven kid like Højlund was when he arrived in 2023.
