Manchester United star makes feelings clear after reacting to Erik ten Hag staying at Old Trafford
One Manchester United star has reacted to the news that Erik ten Hag will remain at the club following an end-of-season review.
David Ornstein confirmed on Tuesday evening that Ten Hag will remain with Manchester United.
The Athletic reporter also mentioned that United are set to negotiate a new contract with the Dutch manager, whose current deal expires in the summer of 2025.
Since arriving at Old Trafford in 2022, Ten Hag has won two trophies and led the team to a third-place Premier League finish in his debut season.
However, the team struggled in the 2023/24 campaign, finishing eighth in the Premier League—their worst finish since the league’s inception in 1992.
Despite these difficulties, Ten Hag ended the season on a positive note with an FA Cup victory last month. Nonetheless, there were rumours that his job was at risk regardless of the Wembley outcome.
Thankfully for the Dutchman, the INEOS chiefs came to the conclusion that he was the best man to lead the club forward and Alejandro Garnacho has made his feelings clear on the decision.
The United winger has liked a post on social media platform X praising the decision from INEOS to keep the manager. United Stand present Beth Tucker posted, “MY MANAGER! Can’t explain how happy I am. Thank you INEOS.”
Garnacho liked the presenter’s post and fans were quick to notice the Argentine’s social media actions. It is not a surprise to see the support from the player who has progressed under Ten Hag in the past two years.
The 19-year-old started the most games out of any player at the club last season, as Ten Hag showed him trust throughout the campaign.
In fact, the manager’s work with younger players like Garnacho has been noted as one of the reasons that INEOS decided to keep him.
