Manchester United star ‘putting a lot of pressure’ on club for transfer as Jason Wilcox explains ‘perfect’ move

One Manchester United star is reportedly ‘putting a lot of pressure’ on the club to make a particular transfer happen this summer.

Manchester United are eager to strengthen their misfiring forward line this summer following a disappointing campaign last season.

The club has already secured the signing of Matheus Cunha and is pushing to finalise a deal for Bryan Mbeumo ahead of the start of pre-season training next week.

Equally crucial is the need to offload unwanted players in the coming weeks to help raise funds for the reinforcements Ruben Amorim is targeting.

However, while several names are on the transfer list, United are finding it challenging to secure permanent moves for any of them.

Sancho pressurising United for Juventus move

Jadon Sancho is among the players United are trying to sell after Chelsea opted out of their agreement to sign the winger.

He is currently of interest to several clubs in the window, although it is being reported that he is now pushing for a move to Juventus.

Italian insider Gianni Balzarini believes that the situation could be resolved ‘in the next 10 days’, which is beneficial to the Reds, who want to complete sales as soon as possible.

“I also believe that within ten days the situation of Sancho will be defined, who I am told is very keen to go to Juventus,” said Balzarini, as translated by TuttoJuve.

“Even if he is a very virtuous player, very strong technically, let’s say even a little to be recorded at the mental level for certain behaviours a little exuberant [doubts over his professionalism], let’s say so.

“However the player is eager, very eager, they tell me that he is putting a lot of pressure to go and play in Turin to wear the Juventus shirt and this is certainly very important.”

Wilcox explains ‘perfect’ United move

Meanwhile, United have made a positive move after the addition of Jonny Evans as the club’s new Head of Loans and Pathways was confirmed on Monday afternoon.

Evans, 37, has ended his playing career and taken on a role at Old Trafford which will see him working regularly with the young talent coming out of Carrington.

Loan moves have not been entirely successful in the recent past at the club and so Evans has an important role to play – one that Jason Wilcox believes is perfect for him.

“Having just finished his exceptional playing career, Jonny is the perfect role model for our young players,” United’s director of football told club media.

“Jonny’s knowledge of what it takes to succeed at Manchester United will be of great benefit to each of them as we continue to develop world-class talent capable of performing in our first team.”
