Manchester United star informed he ‘must leave’ Rúben Amorim as he can ‘win the Premier League’ with rival team

One Manchester United player has been told he must leave Manchester United as he is too good and could be winning the Premier League with a a rival club.

The debate over the best midfielder in Manchester has gone on for several generations, with Paul Scholes usually winning the argument.

Bruno Fernandes and Kevin de Bruyne are the two names frequently argued as the best current midfielders in Manchester. However, De Bruyne has announced that he will be leaving Manchester City at the end of the season.

The Belgian has enjoyed many successful seasons in the Premier League, but injuries in recent years have prevented him from reaching the same heights as he once did.

Fernandes has taken over the creative mantle from De Bruyne, on occasion single-handedly dragging Manchester United through games and even seasons.

However, with United’s poor run of form, and the age of the former Sporting player, some pundits say he should leave the club in the summer transfer window.

Fernandes is “too good” for Amorim’s United

In an interview with Grosvenor Sport, former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie O’Hara has said Bruno Fernandes is “too good” to play for United.

“Bruno Fernandes should leave Manchester United,” he said. “If I was Bruno, I’d say ‘I’ve had enough of this’ – he’s not going to win Premier League titles at the club. He should leave and go to a top club who are going to win trophies; he’s too good for the team he’s playing in. If you put Bruno in Man City’s team, they’d go and win the league.”

“He’s a great player. I know people argue that he throws his arms in the air and can moan a bit, but if you’re a top player, you would quickly become fed up with the environment you’re in; he’s surrounded by average players.

“He’s running around in midfield for Rúben Amorim, trying to make things happen in his 3-4-3 graveyard formation. He’s one of the best midfielders in Europe; he should be playing in the number ten position – simple!”

As per O’Hara, Ruben Amorim’s “3-4-3 graveyard formation” does not suit the Manchester United captain, despite Fernandes registering 20 goal contributions under the Portuguese manager.

The Talksport pundit continued, “Everyone is for sale at Man United with Jim Ratcliffe in charge, and he’s one of the top earners. Without him, Man United would be in a relegation battle. If I were him, I’d leave and go to a top club in Europe.”

Fernandes is United’s only hope

While Fernandes leaving could make United upwards of £100 million, letting the captain leave would be a huge mistake.

The former Sporting player understands Amorim’s system like no other player at the club; every game, he constantly directs players into position.

United’s manager has said himself how he won’t consider letting Fernandes leave, he said, “He’s not going anywhere because I’ve already told him”.

Amorim sees his captain as a key part of the United rebuild, whether he plays him in the front three or in the double pivot alongside Casemiro or Manuel Ugarte.
