Manchester United star has held talks with European clubs after making “highest level” claim

One Manchester United star has already “held talks” with several European clubs over a potential move this summer.

Manchester United appointed Ruben Amorim in November earlier this season, but any hopes of an immediate turnaround quickly faded, with the team still languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

The Portuguese manager has faced a challenging campaign so far and will be looking for significant improvements once he gets the opportunity to reshape the squad during the summer transfer window.

On the bright side, these extra months in charge have allowed Amorim to evaluate most of his players and start forming a clear vision for their roles in the club’s future.

Some will be sold or let go in the coming months, with Amorim hoping to get extra cash to sign upgrades this summer.

Victor Lindelöf is among that group, with the Swedish defender set to depart the club when his contract expires in June. While he will leave for free, United will get some important space on their wage bill.

Lindelöf has held talks with European clubs

Lindelöf, 30, is just not at the required level for United anymore and it is much more beneficial to see someone like Ayden Heaven operate as a backup option for Amorim.

The defender has been at Old Trafford since 2017 and made 273 appearances for the club in that time.

According to TBR Football, West Ham are among a group of Premier League clubs interested in signing Lindelöf on a free deal in the summer.

It was also explained that the Swedish international has held talks with a number of clubs in Germany and Italy.

Lindelöf determined to play at “highest level”

Despite the fact that his career at Old Trafford is set to be over, Lindelöf is determined to stay at a competitive level and is not heading to the MLS or Saudi Arabia anytime soon.

“Of course, I always try to think about football and what’s best for me,” he admitted when discussing his future last month.

I feel that I still have a high level in me. The idea is that I want to play at the highest level.”

Lindelöf may end up reuniting with former teammate Aaron Wan-Bissaka if he decides to stay in England and join the Hammers.
