Manchester United’s squad for the clash against Newcastle has been confirmed ahead of the Premier League bout.

Erik ten Hag’s side are returning from Champions League duty following a disappointing draw away at Galatasaray.

However, their league form is currently promising, with five wins in the last six outings.

The Old Trafford side will be keen to win away from home against Newcastle in a difficult game.

“It’s a very good team, very good mentality,” said Ten Hag of the upcoming opponent. “So we have to play our best to get the points there. That’s our objective.

“We are in a good position now in the table, smelling the top four… we have to get there. So you have to win big games. We know [Newcastle] will be highly motivated, we have to do even more.”

The travelling squad for the game has been confirmed, with Andre Onana amongst the goalkeepers following his recent mistake in Europe.

The defence is as usual, with Luke Shaw having returned to the squad in recent weeks.

In midfield, United are still without Mason Mount despite Ten Hag explaining that the England international has returned to on-the-pitch training after an injury setback.

Kobbie Mainoo is amongst the squad and is expected to start the clash. Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford returns after his suspension in the Champions League.
