Manchester United shock transfer exit could help INEOS, it depends on Man City
Manchester United could have a shock transfer exit in the coming weeks that could help INEOS, but it depends on Manchester City’s decision.
The Reds have been making moves in the transfer market, and advancements are expected after Dan Ashworth takes control at Old Trafford.
Matthijs de Ligt and Joshua Zirkzee are both clear targets for United and could be signed in the coming weeks.
However, in order to maximise this transfer window, INEOS will need to make sure they generate funds from sales.
Mason Greenwood and Jadon Sancho will hopefully be sold for a combined £80 million, but other players in the squad could also exit Old Trafford.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka is one player that has been vaguely linked to an exit but a new report claims that the defender could be involved in a new transfer situation.
A report from CaughtOffside states that Barcelona have agreed personal terms with Manchester City fullback Joao Cancelo for a permanent move this summer.
However, it was explained that negotiations over a transfer fee are yet to begin with his club, and if City and Barcelona cannot agree on a deal, United might enter the frame.
The report says that Wan-Bissaka is Barcelona’s “plan B” option if Cancelo isn’t secured, a list which also includes Emerson Royal and Arnau Martinez.
With exits a priority for INEOS and United this summer, the more potential interest in their players the better.
Wan-Bissaka joined the club from Crystal Palace in 2019 and has made 190 appearances for the Old Trafford outfit.
